Going For It.

It’s not often that I wake up to write.   Often being never.

But today is different.

A few years ago I had heard of this amazing idea of getting women together to listen to their words.

Words written on Motherhood.

Last year, I watched the video’s that were posted on the few cities that it was in.

I laughed, cried, and most importantly- was inspired.

I’ve been a stay at home mom for 9 years.  Through these years I’ve worn many hats.

I’ve conquered laundry mountain.  Ok, only once but it was rough I tell you.

I’ve landscaped the land with precision.

I’ve played contractor to the many, many projects I have started.

The one constant through all of that has been motherhood.

When I heard that the Listen to your mother production was coming to Chicago, I knew I was going to audition for it.

I had to.

I knew that there were going to be a range of pieces from humor to dramatic.

I’m not really “known” for my dramatic writing.    Something about having feelings or something.

Anyways.

I put together something that was me.   And when the day came?  I was nervous.  NERVOUS people.

If you know me, I’m not exactly a nervous person.

I took this as an indication of how much I wanted this.

Sometimes nervous lets you know you’re doing something different.  You’re going  beyond the boundaries.   You’re doing something great.

So I auditioned.

And they picked me along with some really great writers.

I am truly honored to be part of this.

I hope you will come see me.

  3. I'm so proud of you, and proud to know you. I really wish I could be there to see the show!
EEEEEEEEEEEERRRRRRRRRRRP rewind! It's at BlogHer? Or are you only in the Chicago show? Please say you'll post the video if so.

    • Well, Blogher sponsors this nationally and it IS at blogher but it's an open mic night there. I believe LTYM tapes them and then puts them online after. There are other shows in other cities.

    • Well. I have NOT broke out the funnel cake kit since. But now that I've mentioned it AND the kids ARE off from school today…..
